The name describes it best.. A measure of time…
After working in the Commercial Insurance Business for 23 years,
I found a need for change. My passion for jewelry design drew me
to the Arts. A retail Art & Gift Gallery seem to be the best
solution to show my work and earn a living. Well that was 1999.
Currently my Gallery represents over 50 Fine Artists and Craftspeople.
Most of the work is local, however my roots are in Upstate New York,
so you will see some work from New York and Canada.
I
love what Hourglass has become. Handmade in America should not be
taken lightly, which is 95% of the work chosen for my Gallery. People
that walk through my door feel the energy instantly.
Though
most of our Artists are established, for some Artists, Hourglass
was their first outlet, some of these Artists have gone on to do
solo shows and continue to pursue their artistic careers.
I
continue to feature many of the Artists in the “Arts Alive”
series. 2005 will be the third year. My customers can meet the Artists
while enjoying a beverage and good conversation with their neighbors.
Hourglass
has a great blend of pottery, blown glass, jewelry, pewter, and
wood along with a line of Natural or Organic bath items, candles
& music. New to the shop is clothing made of cotton, hemp or
linen. We continue to feature hand made bags and scarves.
Hourglass, for the home, body & soul

happy, Lorrie DiCesare
